Bench. has teamed up with Sasha Exeter for their #LoveMyHood campaign. Sasha takes us around to her fave spots to show us what makes her neighbourhood home. She gives a fresh look on the underrated East side of Toronto describing it as charming and cool. Sasha takes us to her go to coffee shops, local healthy eateries, and trendy boutiques – all things required to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
Odin Café + Bar on King East is an aesthetically pleasing (Instagram-worthy) coffee shop where the stylish Sasha loves to caf up and do some work.
KaSpace is an intriguing concept store along Sasha’s usual jogging route in Leslieville. The “gallery-esque” atmosphere of this space mimics the feel of KA Magazine; a magazine published by KaSpace owners Ashley King Allwood and Kevin Allwood. This miminalistic space holds Kevin’s fashion line, all-natural personal care products, with a café opening up in the near future.
A big part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle comes down to what you put into your body. This active fashionista loves to get her healthy fix at Impact Kitchen. Sasha describes this restaurant as a “new wave cafeteria” serving a nutrient rich menu perfect for Paleo and vegan diets.
Finally, Sasha shows us a little East Side nightlife. Boxcar Social is one of Sasha’s favourite bars; with charcuterie boards and an extensive drink menu Sasha believes this local spot is going to blow up in popularity. An interesting option she raves about is the coffee and whiskey flights, you can order three different coffees or two different espressos and two shots of bourbon.
Thanks to Sasha’s insight to the happenings on the East end it looks like we’re missing out on a pretty cool scene.
